Federico Cantale lives and works in Milan. Cantale’s sculptural research investigates the sensitive knowledge of forms through visual discoveries and intuitions from everyday life and human history. His works are characterised by a spontaneous and varied visual vocabulary, the result of a system of representation governed by the relationship between geometry and figuration. The subjects are not chosen a priori but developed from sculptural thought and by their imaginative qualities. It is indeed the observation of the world and the desire to show it to us with a new gaze that underlies Cantale‘s practice – an approach based on the artist’s responsibility towards the history of visual culture and the transmission of the ability to imagine.
